Graduate visa update

A new opportunity has arisen for international students who have studied a Diploma / Diploma-Certificate combination for at least 2-years.

​

No need for a skills assessment or to nominate an eligible skilled occupation - this sub-class visa is available for applications between 01.07.22 and 30.06.23.

Migration Tasmania is declaring that they are still temporarily closed for processing of applications from 2021-22’.

​

They have stated that once the 2022-23’ Skilled Migration Nomination Program is open for applications, there will be changes to requirements regarding the following visa applications;

 

  • Graduates

  • Skilled employees

  • Business operators

  • Long-term residents

  • Overseas candidates

The number of skilled stream visas will increase this period by 30,000 places over the last period. Conversely, places for family visas will decrease this period by 40%.

This retribution is focused on supporting the Australia's economic recovery.

Travel exemptions and Bridging visas

The Department has updated a list of visas that are eligible for waiver of the requirement to have an approved travel exemption for entry into Australia from 15.12.2021.

** Applicants holding a BVB for the listed visas are not included in this list and must apply for a travel exemption to return to Australia.

Some applicable visas are: 
-Subclass 173 – Contributory Parent (Temporary) visa
- Subclass 300 – Prospective Marriage visa
- Subclass 407 – Training visa

- Subclass 408 – Temporary Activity visa
- Subclass 417 – Working Holiday visa
- Subclass 482 – Temporary Skill Shortage visa

- Subclass 485 – Temporary Graduate visa
- Subclass 500 – Student visa
- Subclass 870 – Sponsored Parent (Temporary) visa

New scores changes in the  Vocational English level:  High scores are requested

A person has vocational English if a provider of an approved English course determines that the person meets or exceeds one of the following standards

​

  • An average score of at least 5.5 in IELTS

  • A total band score of at least 46 in TOEFL

  • A total band score of at least 162 in a Cambridge C1 Advanced Test

  • A total band score of at least 42 in PTE 

  • At least B for each of the four test components of speaking, reading, writing, and listening in an Occupational English Test.

Queensland State Nomination Program

Queensland 491-SBO (Small Business Owners) Pathway is OPEN

 

The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) is now OPEN from 19 April 2021 – 25 April 2021.

​

The subclass 190 will re-open in the next financial year once a new nomination allocation has been received by the Department of Home Affairs.

​

The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Subclass 491 visa (from 65 points and above)

​

Only onshore applicants working in Queensland will be considered.

The Subclass 491 visa is open to COVID critical skill or sectors as previously outlined:

​

  • Air Ambulance, Critical Medical, Medical Technology,

  • Engineering, Critical Infrastructure, Supply Chain

  • Telecommunications, Film & Television Production,

  • Maritime Industry, Agricultural Technology Food Technology,

  • Mining, Emerging Technology, Financial Technology, and

  • Accommodation and Hospitality managers, cafe and restaurant managers, chef and cook

Australia opens Travel bubble with New Zealand

Australian and New Zealand residents can travel freely between the two countries for the first time in more than a year after a travel bubble opened on Monday.

​

The long-awaited initiative removes the need for visitors to quarantine.

​

Now international students living in NZ can visit and migrate to Australia!!!
